Especially since I didn't believe the "average speed he paced me at for two miles" was realistic. Peak maybe, average no, especially when the last half mile to mile I was going MUCH slower because I'd made him. Yes, I was paced (hangs head in shame )-: in that gnarly, twisty stretch of I-40 headed *west* from Waynesville (so I was focusing on traffic). And thinking it was a 65 zone when it was really a 55 zone didn't help much... >> In other words, "just send in lots O' money." If you had to appear, >> you'd have a good excuse for riding to the mountains again ;+} There is that, but not an awful lot to be gained by fighting it. The fine was only $25. But the court costs were $100, which you had to pay whether you appeared or not. I guess the judge is opening envelopes and processing checks on his non-bench days. The Pillars of Justice in NC must be ivory inlaid with gold with a racket like that... It's been a few years since I've made an installment on my High Speed Touring License, so I'm not sweating it. Especially since I'd just renewed all my vehicle insurances, and my companies all practice "don't ask, don't tell" when it comes to tickets... Mr. Bill
