James Revell and I just came down Skyline and the BRP from US 211 to
Peaks of Otter (just above Roanoke) yesterday.  That's about 70 miles
on Skyline and 85 on the BRP, and didn't see a single patrol on those
roads the entire way.  It was blissful.  Traffic was not at all bad
either, as Scott mentioned there were very few RVs.

Our cruising speed was ... brisk.  I might even allude to brisker than
the numbers already mentioned here (Chrispy has gone soft), but when
pressed of course I'd just say you all misunderstood.  I'm always a
bit hesitant to put real numbers into writing.  "Paper trail", "bit
trail", "confession", "predisposition" and so on do not lilt
pleasantly in my ear.
