Subject: [east] Re: Home Again From: "Mr. Bill" Date: Mon, 24 Jun 2002 18:34:36 -0400 I too made it home okay. I rode out Sunday morning with Fredneck and Cate (and Chrispy, with whom we parted ways after breakfast). We took Skyline Drive north for ~65 miles from Route 33 to Front Royal. It's nice sometimes just to cruise and look at the scenery without trying to peg scrape, and it was free that day courtesy of "Dubya". We took backroads from there to Leesburg, the best being county roads 626 and 611 from The Plains to Purcellville (nice roads if you can find them, especially not losing 626 as it passed through Middleburg). I took my leave of Cate and Fredneck as I headed down to White's Ferry to cross the Potomac. They wanted to start taking a more direct route (further to go, etc.) while I took a well travelled (by me) backroads route from there to home on the northeast side of Baltimore. I made it back in at exactly 7pm yesterday evening. Many thanks to =o&>o (The Biker Formerly Known as Petke) for serving as The Oompah for a truly outstanding RCR (official RCR motto this year: This one goes to eleven.). It was as good as they get, and how he managed to top it off with such superb weather is beyond my comprehension. Thanks also to Ian "Keeper of the Grounds" Howie for the life restoring fluids each morning, and the rallycross ride to/from dinner in Harrisonburg on Friday. As usual, it was great to get together with so many friends both old and new. I hope to see y'all again next year, if not sooner. Mr. Bill
