All of us that were stuck in camp a few hours until the rain slowed and the roads opened, also thank your credit card for paying for the room service (just kidding Getting out was easier than I feared. At the same spot that Wayne mentioned we also ran into a dumb vehicle trick. Dave B., Jr, Dave B. Sr., myself and Mel Drake were being followed by Lisa (my wife) and the Wheeler's. The van cleared the corner and then stopped at the side. Dave B. Sr., cropped the Valk Interstate just after the apex of that turn. I was in the middle of the running water so stopping was not an option. The van driver helped him up and we continued. Due to my lack of waterproof footwear I had put my feet in plastic bags to keep them dry or I would have had a boot full of water. The gravel spewed across the road and patches of mud does not really lend it self to a relaxing ride, IMHO. As we left late, Lisa and I took 77S into VA. 58 East to Danville, VA and the 86 S to I-40 East (Thanks to John Hite and Sharon Wheeler for pouring over the maps and sharing this route). Boring slab, the mileage was about the same as going through Greensboro, NC on I-40, but without construction and the normal PITA conditions. I did find that the Guzzi rides rather well over roads that were probably created in the 19th century. See y'all next year (hopefully sooner).
