For a while I was riding the Cali in the stream bed. It was much smoother than the road bed that was probably put in before 1940, and had not been maintained since. When we crested the mountain and found an area being actively worked by timber crews I was happy. There had to be a better road out. There was, nice gravel. There were some people on ATV's. The gave us a strange look as we passed, about 6-8 people on street bikes chugging down a gravel road must be unusual. This years RCR the camp ground had gravel roads. Justin pointed out that I probably voided the Duc's warranty having it off pavement It handles fine on gravel...
