It'll let you play with routes really easily. Well, Mr. Bill "Grasshopper" Leavitt mocked me for posing just that question, but I've started a little mini-list for people who might be going down from the greater Philly/Trenton areas. Shall I put your name on? MNG is OK as far as it goes, but Street Atlas is The Shit. It has given me a wonderful initial route down, and it included the southern half of the Blue Ridge Parkway without my even asking -- how considerate! Dave Petke and I discovered on the way to Kentucky that a slab route out to Charles Town, WVa, was a convenient way to leave all the crap behind quickly (about 3.5 hours from my place in Langhorne) and get to the good stuff. Interestingly, when I had it plot an all-backroads route, it duplicated exactly my route to Camp Wetmar and went on from there. Anyway, total trip is 626 miles in 15 hours, subject to endless discussion and revision. From Charles Town it is based heavily on Routes 259, 42, 43 and the BRP dancing along the VA/WVa border. BTW, if you've got a detailed enough map, the Roost is actually just south of Ferguson in Elkville, near the junction of 268 and SR1162/Elk Creek Road.
