For reference, my route from Kintnersville, PA (20 mins. south of Easton, right along the Delaware), to Deal's Gap (I-78 to I-81 to Waynesboro, BRP to Cherokee, U.S. highways to NC 28 to CoT) was 922 miles and 22 hours, including a stop in the Iron Butt Motel midmorning on the BRP after some close calls with the ditch. A well- rested individual who didn't get caught up in an overly-long lunch stop (due to s l o w service) midafternoon, and who didn't subsequently take detours for the Little Switzerland loop and the Mt. Mitchell summit could probably do it in less than 18 hours. Ferguson is a lot closer than Deal's Gap. Figure 14 -16 hours. Chrispy
