While I often ride in a denim jacket, jeans, and a shorty helmet. For commuting, and cruising the sweeping farmland of central NC at a sedate pace, I just like the way it feels. I am not, however, at all comfortable doing anything other than toddling along unless I'm in a 'stich and full-face. My experiences at the Gap have taught me that. So if you see me in full gear in the summer, I'm probably not in a mood to cruise and chew gum... Now "Wayne" was in full gear, which might have contributed to "his" not getting a ticket. But you're right, Carla, when you're doing 170+ on the Interstate, traffic just can't change lanes fast enough to get in your way. As long as you're looking far enough ahead, it's like avoiding fixed objects at a mere 100 or so. Speaking of which, it looks like I'm fairly likely to add a sportbike back into the stable. It will probably top out at around 90-110, though, or I'll gear it down until it does. Roll on AoDG '99... ;-) I'm definitely taking the Goose to the RCR, though, as *someone* has to carry the tent, and Sharon's SV650 by then might have an inappropriate tail section for bungies...
