I took a route somewhat east of 15 on back roads on the way back down, it was fine. Except for the Goochland County deputy who thought an out-of-state motorcycle on a county road was "suspicious behavior." No ticket (I wasn't doing anything illegal). The guy tailgated me at point-blank range until I pulled over for fear of being run over. Then he decided he would waste 20 minutes of my time running my license. Who do I write to to complain about HIS behavior? > Bikes that were there included Mr. Bill's bike with the wankle engine That's Wankel, the guy who invented it. Sounds good on paper, but there's no good way to make the "rings" seal to the "cylinder" among other problems. > Anyway, I'll let Martyn, Mike Sayers, Mr. Pou, Josh or Melanie add their > own comments... OK, A few of my trademark terse comments: 1) It was fun. 2) It was cold, although I was fairly well prepared. 3) I was ashamed that only 6 TriDoDs, 3 of whom don't live in the Triangle, bothered to show up. 4) The NEDoD has some colorful characters. Can anyone join that list? 5) I should have won the longest distance award, dammit, I rode 1650 miles to the RCR by way of Connecticut. :) -Mike Sayers 1990 Yamaha Vmax Smithfield, NC Vmax list admin AMA #694085 DoD #2026 VMOA #234
