Thanks. I left the park Sunday, about 9 am. It was hot. Headed north towards Indiana on some back road. Things went well untill my left saddlebag came unhooked at the top, and pivoted on the bottom rail. The top was slidding on the road and wore a hole about an inch wide, by a foot long. The lid stayed shut, so nothing was lost. Crossed the Ohio River and meandered through southern Indiana into Cincinnati. I stayed with my parents, soaking up the central air for a couple of days. This gave me time to remount the windshield and change the oil. And check all the nuts and bolts. Changing the brackets and adding a couple of rubber mounts took care of the vibration in the windshield. On Wednesday, I took off for Pittsburgh and spent a day with Buz Armpitage. There is nothing like touring a hilly city in a VW bus that is deisel powered. 0-50 in 11 minutes. You get to see all the sites, for along time. Left for New Hampshire Friday morning at 60 degrees and it felt nice. Donned the rain gear for a couple of hours of drizzle and fog. Lost a bolt out of the rear pipe and the exhuast was quite loud. A hardware store and 25 cents got us back on the road to mingle with the rush traffic in Hartford, CT. Got home in time for a few beers with the friends. All told, Emily took me 3100 miles, through 14 states, with only five breakdowns. Let me finish by thanking Mr. Bill for the hospitality, and him and PoPs for being patient and waiting for me.
