There's nothing in NB. Make it Labrador. Actually, I still don't know or understand why W. Kentucky discourages "newbies". Is it the distance? That doesn't make sense. NC was quite a way for the NEDoD folks. MD was quite a way for the Floridians. As Martyn said, and has been said since the RCR (the first), it's to hang out with folks. If you get to ride to the RCR with new people, great. If not, ride with them in KY. I couldn't be much happier with the selection.
