Subject: ANNOUNCE: Sixth Annual Right Coast Ride REGISTRATION AND CALL FOR CHECKS Date: Tue, 10 Jun 1997 16:36:17 -0400 (EDT) From: Martyn Wheeler Reply-To: east@dnrc.bell-labs.com To: Multiple recipients of list (This is a slightly refined repost; this is the version that will hit rec.moto in a day or two (depending on propagation times). It includes deadline/cancellation info, and a place so I can count vegetarians (if you've already registered, I'll email you separately on that count)). The Sixth Annual Right Coast Ride (RCR-VI) is finalised. Where: Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park When: July 18-20, 1997 URL: http://www.mindspring.com/~tridod/events.htm#RCR I will be sending out another post in July with useful directions; in the meantime, this is a call for registration and checks. NOTE: There is only camping at the RCR site. There are ample water and electrical outlets among the campsites, with showers and restrooms nearby. All roads and parking areas are paved. If you cannot camp, hotels are available within 20 miles of the park, but in that case you must arrange your own accomodations. This call for checks is for camping Friday and Saturday nights, the RCR dinner on Saturday night, and beer/beverages on Friday and Saturday (some soft drinks will be available). Any other costs are your own. The costs are: Camping Friday night: $5/person Camping Saturday night: $5/person Dinner Saturday night: $15/person Beer surcharge: $10/beer-drinker So if you do the whole thing, it's Total (non-drinker): $25 Total (beer-drinker): $35 Checks should be made payable to "Martyn Wheeler" and sent to: Martyn Wheeler 2309 Kelly Rd. Apex, NC 27502 Please write your email address on the check so that I can send you an acknowledgement. Please also send me, via email to: sasmjw@unx.sas.com the following details. I'll be using these to coordinate with the campground about numbers and so on, and to estimate beverage supplies, so it's important you send me email whether you've put the "check in the mail" yet or not. I WILL ACKNOWLEDGE EVERY REGISTRATION WITHIN A FEW DAYS, and will acknowledge receipt of your check separately. If your email bounces, I will call you instead. I need both the number of people and the number of tents to know the cost and campground space we'll have. Although technically the campground sites can't be reserved, I'll be there from the Wednesday and will be pre-paying the sites we need to ensure we can all camp together. Name(s): Email address: Contact address/phone: # people camping Friday night: ($5 ea.) # tents Friday night: # people camping Saturday night: ($5 ea.) # tents Saturday night: # dinners: ($15 ea.) -- how many of these are vegetarian? # beer drinkers: ($10 ea.) Expected bike(s), if any: Other comments: I will periodically post a list of registered attendees to the "east" list (without contact information, of course). Deadline and cancellations... Ideally, registrations should reach me on or before July 3rd. I will be giving the number attending the dinner to the site on that date. Cancellations will be accepted for a full refund up to a week before the event, i.e. July 12th. That is also the last possible date to squeeze in a pre-registration, although if you leave it until then I won't be at all pleased, and neither will Muffy. If absolutely necessary, you can just show up at the site, but that will make my life complicated, might put you some distance from us in the campground, and you might not be able to join the dinner; but I'd rather see folks arrive unannounced than not see them at all, that's the spirit of the RCR. Some other information about the RCR: Our group booking is in the name of the Denizens of Doom Motorcycle Club (oops, I'll have to kill you all now! :-) ). The RCR is a DoD event. But -- LIKE ALL DOD EVENTS! -- you don't have to have a DoD number, you don't need the secret handshake, you don't even have to know who or what the KotL is. All you have to do is to relax and have a good time with a great bunch of friends you've never met before. The dinner is a catered cookout at the beach shelter, scheduled from 7pm on Saturday night. Dinner menu is: sliced baked ham, barbecue chicken, vegetarian lasagna; cole slaw, baked beans, relish tray, assorted breads, assorted beverages (non-alcoholic(*)), condiments, fruit cobbler. (*) We are supplying our own beer; technically the park is dry, but it's OK provided we're reasonably discreet. The campsite is open 24hrs, 7 days, so there are no arrive/leave restrictions; you can arrive before Friday and leave later than Sunday if you want. As always, please email me directly with any questions or concerns, at sasmjw@unx.sas.com Thanks for your patience, and see you in Kentucky!
