I had to dodge *constant* and ever-more subtle attempts to get me to reveal my licence number or name, but eventually found the answer: NC *does* hear about WV tickets, and the state takes speeding very seriously... for an *out-of-state* 89 in a 55, my licence would be suspended for a year. Needless to say I immediately retained a lawyer in Charles Town who seems confident he can get it reduced... For those of you who may be in similar situations, here's how to find a traffic lawyer in BFE: call the Chamber of Commerce, who has a list of them. Easy, effective, and in my case not half the cost I was expecting.
