Uh, yeah, well... Since some of the folks on the list missed the RCR, here's a quick summary of the events to which he's presumably referring, from *my* point of view: After we managed to get YoMaha! in the truck and on the road, we hastened back to the camp, arriving quite late in the dinner-time period. Eating and grabbing a few beers was accomplished rapidly during the hectic group photo. In a state of total exhaustion, I grabbed a few more beers, and some of the Jack Daniels that Grant shoved in my direction. I then pulled out the rum and offered it around, but it seems like nobody else was drinking much of it, so I think I got the majority of that. By the time I noticed I had a buzz going, it was *way* too late... My last continuous memory is from shortly after draining the rum. From what I remember of that time, conscious control was already failing badly. I have a couple of islands of memory, just for the moments when in a desperate attempt to take control my consciousness surfaced briefly -- but actually only enough to observe (actually, if those were the worst moments, it wasn't too bad). So I owe my good friends a great many thanks for keeping me out of trouble, I hope. Sincere thanks, folks. I gather I was at an RCR when another page was added to Denizen folklore. I was on that page. I don't remember a damn thing about it, except astonishing everyone when I was clearly *not* a candidate for the Pink Elephant hangover award the next morning. Seeing Pops and Mr. Bill scramble desperately to try to find a worthy award holder when their sure thing fell through was amusing, although I would much rather remember why they thought I would get it. Initially when I woke up on Sunday I thought the islands of memory were actually in pretty much a continuous sequence; I found it rather distressing to find that there were several hours unaccounted for -- by all accounts, they seem to have been the most significant hours of the party -- for me, anyway. =:-O I'll have to wait for the pictures, because nobody's telling (grrrrr!)... Again, many thanks to those who looked after me. Apologies to those I offended, insulted or embarrassed. In both cases, I'd do so personally if I remembered who you were; I've thanked and apologised to those I remember, but I'm sure there were more. A final comment: That was a once in a lifetime experience. If you weren't there and missed it, you missed it. Brian, when you organise RCR-V, you'll need to find alternate entertainment. :-) >Hydration is our friend. Was that external or internal hydration? :-) But yes, I agree. Through hydration do the pink elephants fly away by morning. :-) >Good friends and riding motorcycles are both Good >Things. They're even better together. What he said. Oh yeah, I'd like to collect independent versions of Saturday night to help fill in the major gaps... before it passes into net.folklore and I can no longer separate the fact from the fanciful! Answers by email, please... Thanks, guys.
