Date: Wed, 02 Jun 93 22:11:38 EDT From: Dean Cookson Subject: Re: hey, need info Announcing the Second Annual Right Coast ride. Short Version: When: The weekend of July 9/10th 1993. Where: The Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Cass, West Virginia. What: Ride, sleep, ride, train, food, drink, sleep, ride. Why: Because we can. Long Version: On the weekend of July 9/10th 1993, the Denizens of the east will invade Cass, West Virgina for the purpose of organized squidliness, bench racing, and some good ole' fashion drunken debauchery. Cass may not be on your map. It is just on the WV side of the WV/VA border, about half way down. At a first approximation, it is 50 miles northwest of the southernmost intersection of freeways 81 and 64. If you have a road map of finer granularity, it is in the center of the rectangle formed by the WV roads: 219 to the west, 92 to the east, 39 to the south, and 250 to the north. If you have a map with no roads, it is just west and slightly south of the "jog" in the middle of the WV/VA border, where the border runs NW-SE for 25 miles or so. As of right now, lodging will be in cabins at the park, and will cost $13/person/night, with the expected (but certainly not required) stay being Fri & Sat. nights. Camping may become available as an organized option if there is sufficient interest or you are welcome to make individual arrangements if you prefer. At this point, the cabins are full for Friday night and only cot space is available that night. If a couple of more people express interest I will try to get another cabin. Dinner Sat. night will be via the Cass Senic Railroad State Park's "Dinner Train". A train ride, followed by an old fashion BBQ and live bluegrass music. Cost for the "Dinner Train" is $25 plus an additional $5 if you want to beverages (beer and soda) back at the cabin site afterwards.
