More foolish was that unnamed individual that put their >bike up on the center stand (on soft dirt) to lube their chain (yea, you didn't >get away unnoticed). Hey it wasn't my fault. It was the bone head who forgot to lay down a nice square foot of carbon fibre. Or maybe it was the humidity; that air was really MOIST. Anyway other then above aformentioned previously note episode of brain fade, Chris and I had a rather good time. She finally got to take her little girl bike out for a real ride, and experience the joy of butt numbness. I on the other hand have finally had enough of this joy, VFRs seats are NOT ment to be ridden for 7.5hrs, and as one fine Ducatist said, "Its time to give Mr. Corbin a call." Amen! Some observations: Ed Green was the only person who looked like I actually pictured him. I am not sure yet if this is a complement. Radar detectors are golden. Saved my butt at least 3 times. Jonathan gets my cudos for having heeps o self control. If I had done the same thing with a two week old bike I would have been more then a little dispondent. Wait. Come to think of it I did and I was. Opps. Propelling ones self over the edge of a water fall is now officially defined as a squidly thing to do. Just don't tell the natives. I-77 and I-79 in Virginia and W Vir. are some of the nicests slabs in the country. I-79 in Penn. should be destroyed. What a goat path!!! You can instantly tell when you have entered Penn. by noting two facts: The roads ALL SUCK and the cages become instant left lane bandits. I just don't understand. Oh and I also enjoyed flipping off the sign just inside the Penn. border that said "OUR SPEED LIMIT IS STILL 55" SPRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I hate Metallica and Gun's and Roses. There Chris and me were, 450 miles of moist and sodden riding behind us about to enter our wonderful 'Burgh cruising down I-279 (aka Parkway west) when AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Gridlock from hell. Check the watch: 4PM. Its Sunday. What the Hell is going on. We begin to lane hop our way slowly along, all the while trying not to yell too loudly in our helmets, when we being to notice the average age of the cager's around us. Then it dawns on me and I remember that there is a concert at Three rivers tonight. No fair!!! No fair!!! We sat for about 15' before we decided enough was enough. Yes we were squidly...I guess. We lane split. 1st time for me. (yes it is illegal in Penna. aka Nazivannia). Let me just say I am jealous of you Ca.'ers who can do this regularly. It saved us at least 30' minutes of traffic hell, and impressed the hell out of the little head bangers. Maybe the youth of America are not lost. And finally...Thanks to Ed and his SO for putting on a hell of a party. Grand job, I just hope next year it is farther north.
