There's one set of tyres that stand out above all the rest for this bike, and that's the K491 touring tyres from Dunlop.  For any type of riding, wet or dry, they'll perform very well indeed.  One of the big reasons for this is the flat profile of the rear -- that has the effect on a low ground clearance motorcycle of "raising" the bike at higher lean angles, resulting in an increased clearance towards the limits of lean.  Also, even though they're touring tyres and the Intruder is quite a powerful bike, they have enough traction to scrape hard parts even if you're hanging off in the corners.  Add that to the fact that they last almost forever, and you just can't find a more suitable tyre for this bike.

For the price, the Kenda's are outstanding.  They're actually better than a whole bunch of more expensive tyres.  For a low clearance bike like the Intruder, they have plenty of traction... although because some people (myself included) have concerns about the wet performance of the Kenda front, I prefer to pair it with another front, like the Dunlop K491.

That's what I had on an Intruder 700, and they worked so well for every type of riding that I wouldn't fit anything else.
