Martyn's Opinion
General Comments
Avon, Bridgestone, Metzeler, and Pirelli all say the Bandit can handle
radials, so there's no reason (aside from cost) not to put good radials
on this bike. The benefits of a more comfortable ride, better traction
on uneven pavement, less heat build-up and more even wear -- these are
things every rider can use.

So go with the proven ME-Z1/ME-Z2 combination, with an excellent reputation
for both wet and dry traction, and get superb handling with the stickier
Z1 on the front and the longer-wearing Z2 on the rear. If your budget
can handle it, there's no reason to look elsewhere. Even the price
has dropped so much (combined with other price increases) that it works
out as an economical choice too. The Bridgestone BT50/BT54 and Michelin
Macadam 90X's are marginally cheaper, but it's a false economy -- the Metzelers
should last better than the Bridgestones and suit the bike better than
the Michelins.
