Sting: a Description

Originally a member of Scorpionis, Sting was forced into independence in early 1117 when the government and Navy withdrew.  On 086-1117, responding to orders from central Scorpionis authority, all technology over Jump-2 was destroyed.  Even though contact had been completely lost with Scorpionis, the bureaucracy continued to run the planet.  On 209-1117, in response to the arrival of the ambassador from Coruska, the Press Agency assumed governmental duties and Sting joined the Tail Nations alliance.
