Dulu: a Description

Before the Spinward War, Dulu was a member of Scorpionis. The War was hard on Dulu: while not subject to a full long-term war like Staru, it was nevertheless the site of two horrific naval battles, along with deliberate destruction of civilian targets when Scorpionis withdrew. The events that occured in this system were as follows:

051-1117: The system was put on alert against an imminent threat from the Whitestar sector to Spinward. Patrols were increased to full wartime status.
061-1117: Reinforcements arrive in the form of the darthlaru-fleet and staru-fleet.
068-1117: The faranu-fleet arrives, bringing the number of Scorpionis fleets insystem to four.
069-1117: The First Battle of Dulu begins, involving the four Scorpionis fleets and a massed alien fleet. Massed visitor-invasion-fleet begins to arrive at Dulu, where it is met effectively by dulu-fleet, staru-fleet, darthlaru-fleet, and faranu-fleet in the Battle of Dulu. All colonies around the secondary are destroyed as the primary target of the attack, and there are some casualties on Dulu from non-targeted missile attacks from System range. The aliens are operating from the S3 gas giant. Now:

072-1117: Battle of Dulu ends with victory for Scorpionis. Visitor fleets destroyed, Scorpionis losses heavy: faranu-fleet disbanded, remnants transfered to darthlaru-fleet; dulu-fleet and staru-fleet also well under half-strength. Message is sent to Scorpiu, telling of the major victory over alien invaders and the heavy losses. Most of the fighting concewntrated around the seconfdary -- wreckage from around 900 starhips litter all orbits, plus many unexploded nuclear and conventional mines from both sides. Some more limited remote bombing of Dulu. Governments unite as recovery proceeds.

086-1117: All non-fleet spaceships are commandeered and destroyed.
089-1117: As the victory-fleet leaves fro Staru, it destroys all spaceports from orbit. Civilian casualties are heavy, particularly as the main capital of Dulu is flattened. Radiation and contaminants abound in that area.

137-1118: Second Battle of Dulu ends with a victory for the TradeMain Foundation. The mainworld is rendered uninhabitable.
